Suravudhi ‘Tae’ Sukumganjana spent most of his childhood and his professional life studying and working as an Architect based in the UK and since 2009 in Hong Kong. In mid 2018, after being away for 40 years, he decided to repatriate to Bangkok.
Under the guidance of David Chipperfield during his time at the Royal College of Art in London, he developed a distinctive approach and rationale in design solutions. He began his architectural career in London where he gained all-around experience in the architectural design process; and absorbed knowledge from various respectable London based practice and consultants. An Architectural Team Leader with extensive experience in the Cultural, Transportation, Sport and Commercial & Social Housing sectors in the UK, Europe, Middle East and East Asia. He also gained transportation design experience during his early professional career. He was later involved in public transport projects including interchange as well as TOD master planning and station/public realm design with topside property development in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore.
His main interests lie in international development works:
humanitarian works pre and post disaster; development in areas of South and South-East Asia, particularly low cost/social housing; school and transport in developing countries; and in addressing social issues of mobility. Architecture should be for the benefit of the masses and not for the privileged few.
His individual and collaborative projects have been featured in many design magazines and monograms. He published 2 written articles in 2017.
